At the slopes of Mt. Rocca Busambra you’ll find the Natural Reserve of Ficuzza. The Glorious history of the only Sicilian Forest begun at the end of the 18th century when Ferdinand IV of Borbone created a huge royal hunting reserve of 12,000 hectares, with woods and wolfs, dears and roe. His love for hunting brought to the building of the Mansion, by the architects Chenchi and Marvuglia. Top destination for trekkers and Birdwatching lovers, who can admire the Black Starling (a bird that lives just in Spain, Sicily and Sardinia).
