  • At the base of "Rocca Busambra" you'll find the Natural Reserve of Ficuzza. The Glorious history of what remains the only Sicilian Forest begins at the end of the 18th century when Ferdinand III de Borbon created a huge royal hunting reserve of 12000 hectares entirely veiled by woods where abounded wolfs, deers and roes, his preferred prays. His love for hunting brought to the creation of the Mansion, completed by the architects Chenchi and Marvuglia. This 10 km (from Rossella) walk will be also a precious occasion for Birdwatching lovers to admire the Black Starling (a bird that lives just in Spain, Sicily and Sardinia) that uses to nest on the roofs of the Royal Mansion.
