Reaching Rossella it is simple:
- From Punta Raisi/ Falcone Borsellino airport (one and the same thing!) head towards Palermo, on the A29, which eventually takes you around the city and becomes the A19.
- After just 3 or 4kms on the A19, take the exit for VILLABATE.
- Then continue in the direction of AGRIGENTO on the SS121, for approx 15kms.
- Leave the SS121 at the BOLOGNETTA exit and follow signs for MARINEO. After about 5kms, you will go through Marineo.
- Continue for approx 8kms after Marineo and at the junction, turn right for PIANA DEGLI ALBANESI.
- Now you are on the SP5 road for Piana Degli Albanesi - after approx 8kms you will see a track on the right and a sign for Masseria Rossella.
- Turn right down the unmade track for approx 1.5kms to the Masseria.

Scanzano Lake
It is a really pretty lake that licks the "Ficuzza Wood"
that can be admired from the Masseria and that can be easily reached
by bike or walking, 10 km.
Ficuzza Wood and Royal Mansion
At the base of "Rocca Busambra" you'll find the Natural
Reserve of Ficuzza. The Glorious history of what remains the only
Sicilian Forest begins at the end of the 18th century when Ferdinand
III de Borbon created a huge royal hunting reserve of 12000 hectares
entirely veiled by woods where abounded wolfs, deers and roes,
his preferred prays. His love for hunting brought to the creation
of the Mansion, completed by the architects Chenchi and Marvuglia.
This 10 km (from Rossella) walk will be also a precious occasion
for Birdwatching lovers to admire the Black Starling (a bird that
lives just in Spain, Sicily and Sardinia) that uses to nest on
the roofs of the Royal Mansion.
Rocca Busambra
Made of limestone; it is the highest peak of west Sicily, it reaches
1600 meters and is a refuge for lots of birds but especially for
raptors.
Godrano
20km off Rossella you'll find Godranopoli: a really interesting
museum of the Rural Culture of the surroundings. Besides the old
rural tools you'll have the opportunity to learn the manufacture
cycles of local bread, cheese, oil, and wine.
Terme di Cefaladiana
Just below the Natural Reserve of Pizzo Chiarastella, 35km away
from Rossella, there is the only integer monument in Sicily of
the Arab age (800 a. c. circa): The thermal baths (still in place
and active!). Along the external walls of the building is still
possible to read a phrase written in "Cuphic" characters,
the Arab ancient written language.
Palazzo Adriano
It is a town founded in the 15th Century by catholic albanese
refugee escaping from the Ottoman persecution that was taking
place in Greece and Albania. The characteristic of the village
is that two different cultures live together is harmony: the traditional
Italian and the Greek Albanian one. This bivalence is expressed
trough the spoken language as well as the religious traditions.
It's very interesting to observe how the cathedrals (the Latin-roman
one, and the Albanian orthodox one face each other in the main
place of the town. By the way, this place is the one is the one
that you can admire in the film of Giuseppe tornatore "Nuovo
Cinema Paradiso" that won the Oscar in 1990 as the best foreigner
film. You'll find it 50 km from Rossella.
Lake of Piana degli Albanesi
Just in front of Piana degli Albanesi, this is a very nice artificial
lake (10 km off Rossella). It is ideal for a quite walk along
its coasts.
Piana degli Albanesi
As well as Palazzo Adriano, Piana degli Albanesi is a town founded
by Albanians in the 15th century where Albanian culture lives
together with the Italian one. It is very famous because of the
production of the "cannolo", a Sicilian sweet made of
ricotta (a sheep cheese). In Piana degli Albanesi (12 km
from Rossella) definitely you'll find the best "cannolo"
of the world!
Monreale
is a village famous from its Arab Norman Dome, an architectural
jewel commissioned by Norman kings to Arab architects. A catholic
church made by Arabs! Just at 35 km from Rossella.
Monte Jato
35 km away from Rossella you'll have the opportunity to visit
the works of a archaeological expedition that is unveiling the
rests of a Greek theatre able to host more then 4000 people. This
is a theatre that was built on the model of the Dionysus theatre
in Athens.
